According to the latest official announcement, one of 2024’s biggest film ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ will now arrive in cinemas a day early. Instead of 6th December the Allu Arjun starrer sequel will release worldwide in cinemas on 5th December, 2024.
Initially the film was scheduled for release in August itself during the Independence Day slot but was ultimately postponed to 6th December and now once agin there is a change in date. While the earlier shift seemed reasonable given the number of films that were releasing then, this one day preponment seems beyond logical comprehension. In fact such fickleness is almost annoying.
It does not help with the clash ‘Pushpa 2’ is going to have with Vicky Kaushal’s ‘Chhaava’ that is still coming on December 6. Since there is no official reason stated for the date shift it only seems possible that the makers are eyeing for a Thursday release which has sort of become a new hot trend.
Whatever maybe the reason, only thing that matters is ultimately the film’s performance and if it’s really good such minor changes won’t even matter. ‘Pushpa 2’ is a tentpole film with massive expectations and is the most awaited sequel in current times.
It’s also the first pan Indian film that’s releasing in Bengali and is hence ready to conquer a new region and become pan Indian in more truer sense.
Written and directed by Sukumar, ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ stars Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil in prominent roles and will arrive in cinemas worldwide on 5th December, 2024.
