Veteran star Chiranjeevi has launched the trailer for Varun Tej Konidela’s highly anticipated upcoming film ‘Matka’ today and this one looks intense and intriguing. Helmed by Karuna Kumar (Palasa 1978’, ‘Sridevi Soda Center’), ‘Matka’ is a pan Indian film and will release in theatres in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada and Malayalam on 14th November, 2024.
‘Matka’ trailer takes you through the various timelines of Vasu’s life as he grows from being an ambitious young man to becoming the notorious Matka King. Fascinated by the world of gambling early on, Vasu goes through various challenges, including his wife’s objections and multiple enemies along the way, to reach the heights he does.
The trailer shows his rise to power and wealth and the intense action filled journey he embarks on during the process. There are some heavy dialogues in the trailer that are as impactful as Varun Tej’s screen presence and performance. The audience also gets glimpses of Meenakshi Chaudhary as Varun’s wife, Nora Fatehi as a glamorous bar dancer and Naveen Chandra in a pivotal role.
The BGM in the trailer is powerful and adds to the massy vibe. The trailer is well cut and the screenplay very well captures the whole timeline and core theme of the film that has been kept vintage, raw and brutal.
Based on Matka gambling scams that rocked the country in the 20th century, ‘Matka’ is set in between 1958 and 1982 and follows the story of the mastermind behind these scams.
Written and directed by Karuna Kumar, ‘Matka’ stars Varun Tej Konidela, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Nota Fatehi, Naveen Chandra, Kishore Kumar G., Ajay Ghosh, Vijaya Ramaraju and Roopalakshmi among others.
A G.V. Prakash Kumar musical, ‘Matka’ has cinematographer by A Kishore Kumar and editing by Karthika Srinivas R. The film is produced by Dr. Vijender Reddy Teegala and Rajani Talluri. A Vyra Entertainment and ART Entertainments production, ‘Matka’ will make way to theatres in 14th November, 2024 and that means clashing with Suriya and Bobby Deol’s highly awaited ‘Kanguva’.
