The multi-talented artist Bandi Saroj Kumar gained a huge fan base online for his independent film works, including Sironcha, Nirabandam 2, Mangalyam, and Nirabandam. Passionate performances and biting dialogue delivery characterize his distinctive approach.
Amazingly, Parakramam is a theatrical production, especially considering how many parts he plays in it. He is Parakramam’s writer, actor, producer, editor, composer of music, lyricist, and director.
In the movie, Kumar plays Satti Babu, a theater performer who, in his hometown of Lampakalova, goes as Charlie Chaplin. His goal is to write a play that exposes a brutal injustice he saw in his neighborhood. However, he lacks the strength to combat his adversaries. He admits that his kid Lovaraju (Bandi Saroj Kumar) has the bravery he does not.
As he passes away, his son promises him that he will make amends for all the wrongs he did and that he will portray Yama in the play he wrote, Parakramam. The narrative centers on Lovaraju’s valiant struggle with cricket, a shattered love affair, and his choice to carry out his father’s dream by performing his play at Ravindra Bharathi.
As Charlie Chaplin, Kumar dazzles and embodies the vulnerability required to captivate the audience. Venkat R Prasad’s cinematography builds the momentum the filmmaker requires. Despite having a decent story and screenplay, the film didn’t do quite well at the Box Office and was a disaster.
While the film was released back in August, it is now available to stream on OTT Platform Aha. The platform didn’t do any promotional campaigns for the film so it is heavily considered to flop digitally as well. Only time will tell how viewers react to Bandi Saroj Kumar’s valiant effort in making such an action-drama thriller.
