After Tamil, Prime Video Again Remakes Panchayat in Telugu

Last year Prime Video got us a Tamil series called Thalaivettiyaan Paalayam.

What was it?

A remake of the blockbuster Hindi series called Panchayat.

Rather, a textbook remake where the director took no effort to change a scene. Well, the series was met with criticism.

Now, Prime Video is bringing another series.

What is it?

Telugu remake of Panchayat.

It is called Sivarapalli and it releases on January 24.

It will be an eight-episode comedy-drama with a talented cast including Rag Mayur, Muralidhar Goud, and Rupa Lakshmi.

The story follows Shyam, an engineering graduate from the city who reluctantly becomes the panchayat secretary in the quirky village of Sivarapalli. What begins as a fun experience turns into a lot of funny and heartwarming moments as Shyam interacts with the lovable villagers.

You already know the story, there is nothing new for you. The question is why?

Most people who could enjoy the series have already done so. Anyway, let’s wait to see if the Telugu version takes the same textbook route or there is something new to it.

The series Sivarapalli will be released on the 24th of January and we will keep you posted on the qualities of the series. For all the important information about the OTT industry, kindly keep following Binged.
