Laughing Buddha, a Kannada film produced by Rishab Shetty, a well-known figure in Kantara, was one of the most eagerly awaited regional releases on August 30. The film hilariously and nonjudgmentally depicts the life and struggles of Govardhan, an overweight police head constable.
A good-hearted police officer who values food, family, and his job equally is the subject of the film. It also demonstrates how his life radically shifts when he finds out that his obesity may cause him to lose his job. What follows is an intense rollercoaster of emotions that combines humor with a poignant message.
M. Bharath Raj wrote and directed the movie, which Rishab Shetty produced under the Rishab Shetty Films banner. This Kannada film stars Pramod Shetty, Teju Belawadi, Sundar Raj, SK Umesh, and Diganth in prominent roles.
The movie tried to reign the OTT, even if it didn’t fare very well at the box office. The movie is presently available for viewing on Prime Video, which is its streaming partner.
