Abhishek Bachchan stepped out of his basic acting zone and tried to deliver something unique yet exciting to watch in his latest theatrical outing with ‘I Want to Talk’. Shoojit Sircar has flawlessly captured the essence of a cancer patient dealing with life problems peacefully and Junior Bachchan just made it even more effortless.
The film was quite on the news before making it to the theatres for Abhishek’s portrayal of a lonely and sad man who is determined enough to do everything all by himself despite his condition. The plot is peaceful and tries to grab the attention of the audience slowly making the film a bit dragged at some points.
According to reviews, the plot could have been much faster to showcase progress in the story which was sort of predictable. Abhishek’s character also sheds a lot of light on his personal life as he battles a vicious disease. He amends to make good bonds with his daughter played by Ahilya Bamroo.
Johnny Lever probably saved the film in the second half according to most reviews reviving the film with his light-hearted moments. Despite several pacing issues throughout the film, Shoojit Sircar wanted the viewers to connect with the film and give proper time for the character to build.
Talking about the character, Abhishek Bachchan nailed the role and is what everything viewers were expecting from him. The long pauses, complex relationships, and complicated father-daughter bond have been displayed perfectly by Junior Bachchan. As the weekend is still young, fans would love to experience a calm and composed drama connecting themselves with happiness and sorrow in Abhishek Bachchan’s I Want to Talk.
