The year 2024 has been quite a good one for Kriti Sanon with back-to-back hits in the form of Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya followed by Crew. Both the films surpassed the mark of 100 crores and became huge hits. The films not only became commercial hits, but critics too were positive towards the films, especially praising the role of Kriti Sanon in it.
Crew, which was a comedy satire on an airline that turned bankrupt, amidst it, three air hostesses of the airline became involved in a gold smuggling. The film became an instant success and amassed 10 crore on the opening day. The film went on to collect 150 crores+ globally. It became the third highest grossing film with females in the center. It also is one of the highest grossing films of the year 2024.
With commercial success, the film also saw a positive reception from the critics. Tabu was phenomenal as a senior flight attendant, Kareena Kapoor Khan showed the perfect shade in her characters and finally Kriti showed her potential by equally matching the two. Many critics praised the storytelling and interesting way of the makers to attempt the satire. But Kriti took a fair share of the critics’ reviews for her acting.
Now Kriti is upcoming with her next film Do Patti, which will be released later this month. The film is a crime-mystery thriller with a lot of layers to be unfolded. Kriti is supposed to be playing double roles as twin sisters. Along with her, Kajol will be seen in a pivotal role as an investigating police officer. The film also stars Shaheer Sheikh and Tanvi Azmi apart from these two.
The film’s teaser has been released and by the looks of it, both Kajol and Kriti seem to be amazing in their characters. Especially Kriti in the montage of shots where she is featured in the trailer, looks spectacular. It seems the film will be an interesting thriller to watch. The film will be released directly on Netflix and not on theatres which will give the movie an advantage as the theatres at that time will be packed with some big budget giants whereas this movie will fulfill its watching potential in the OTT platform.
The film can ensure once again a successful venture maintaining Kriti’s streak of giving hits this year. Most of the films released directly on OTT platforms (especially Netflix) have been good so far and hopefully the same will remain with this film as well. The year 2024 is slowly proving to be one of the best for Kriti, and hopefully will continue to be so.
