It was the year 2018. People had started getting smartphones and the meme culture was very strong as it was in its beginning phase. There was a fight to gain the first 100 million subscribers on YouTube and the fight was between PewDiePie and T-Series. Indians through nationalistic emotions and population made T-Series the first channel to gain 100 million subscribers.
Those people must be regretting today.
Because the focus of T-Series is not on making good films and songs at all. You see, they are just encashing the nostalgia.
After destroying tons of great songs without the consensus of the original artists, they are now on milking the same stuff again and again. You see, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 already had 6 versions of Ami Je Tomar/Mere Dholna. The original from 2007 is a landmark song and is exceptionally great. But the makers are just milking the original without any creativity whatsoever of the present time.
This time people are also getting fed up and it is very clear in the responses of people.
Even Shreya Ghoshal, Madhuri Dixit and Vidya Balan couldn’t save the song because the lyrics and music itself is unforgivable.
Nobody wants more butchered versions of the song. We would love an entirely new song which is as banger as Mere Dholna from the original.
