Two years ago on the occasion of 195th birth anniversary of Mahatma Jyotirao Phule, ‘Phule’ a film on his life was announced and today on the birth anniversary of his wife Savitribai Phule, who was India’s first woman educator, makers have unveiled the release date for the film.
‘Phule’ is aptly planned to arrive in cinemas on Mahatma Phule’s 197th birth anniversary on 11th April, 2025. The film is directed by atop all Award winner Ananth Narayan Mahadev and stars ‘Scam 1992’ fame Pratik Gandhi as Mahatma Jyotirao Phule and ‘CityLights’ star Patralekhaa as Savitribai Phule.
The film tells the story of the 1800s Indian social activist, thinker, anti-caste social reformer and writer, Mahatma Jyotirao Phule. He worked extensively to eradicate social evils like untouchability, caste discrimination and also made great efforts for the education action of women and people from oppressed caste.
Dr. Raj Kishore Khaware, Pranay Chowksi, Saurabh Varma, Utpaal Acharya, Anuya Chauhan Kudecha and Ritesh Kudecha serve as the producers for ‘Phule’. A Dancing Shiva and Content Engineers production, ‘Phule’ will release in theatres on 11th April, 2025.
