Bringing the OG ghost against the latest hot favourite, now that’s how you get the audience hooked for a film they have been anticipating since long and make it all worth the wait. Makers of ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ have begun their promotions for the film set to release this Diwali and there couldn’t have been a better way than revealing the theme that will serve as its USP.
In the latest poster unveiled for ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ the tagline reads ‘Rooh Baba Vs Manjulika’ and we see Rooh Baba with a torch standing in front of the haveli uphill over which multiple female ghosts of Manjulika are hovering amidst the clouds. The dark grey theme suggests the horror genre and continues with the theme unveiled in earlier posters.
While people had been speculating this Rooh Baba Vs Manjulika theme, ever since it was known that Vidya Balan is returning to the franchise, it’s confirmation will lead to many more fan theories popping up. It will also lead to people revisiting the previous two films in the series and draw parallels that connects the two.
We all saw in the original ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’ how Manjulika was a manifestation of Vidya Balan who had heard her stories since childhood, whether she existed in real or not was kept a mystery. Moving to the sequel, which had no connection the previous film, Rooh Baba just happened by chance and wasn’t an actual person who could expel ghosts.
How these characters are framed and connected in ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’, the latest film from the franchise will be exciting to see. While it is touted to be a standalone sequel with no connection to last two films, this new poster and tagline tell a different story.
Moreover, this promotional strategy also gives ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ an edge over for ‘Singham Again’ for a while, until the latter comes up with an even more exciting marketing campaign. The two hotly awaited films which are part of two respective blockbuster franchises, are set to clash this Diwali in theatres.
