Vasan Bala’s ‘Jigra’ is releasing in two days and the promotions are going on with full flow. The hype for the movie is good and it will probably be a big hit. But will ‘Jigra’ succeed in the Southern states?
The industries down south are having releases of their own. Devara is still having a good enough run in many places, and the much anticipated Vettaiyan is coming tomorrow only. Vettaiyan will take up much of the theatrical space and other films will not get much of a chance in Tamilnadu too.
But the makers of Jigra are trying hard to make the movie reach its audiences all over India. It is really difficult to do that in South Indian states because they are already occupied with their own releases and will not give much importance to a Bollywood release. Also, there are no South Indian actors in the movie to cause intrigue in audiences.
‘Jigra’ has chances of breaking records in the northern belt. This will probably be the first film from Vasan Bala that is having chances of this much success and the credit goes to the stardom of Alia Bhatt of course. It’s a win win for her too to have worked in a content-driven film by a filmmaker of Bala’s calibre. But putting one or two South Indian actors in the movie could have changed the scenario and created better chances for the movie on South India.
