As the Bollywood box office renovated this Diwali with the blockbuster clash between Singham Again and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, audiences have been showering love for both films with earth-shattering collections. Ajay Devgn’s starrer Singham Again has bolstered the box office with its massive collections over the weekend giving him his career’s best opening figures.
The same can be said for Kartik Aaryan as the Shehzada of Bollywood got his biggest opening with BB3 earlier this month. Both the films entered the prestigious 100 crores club within their first weekend which is a huge win-win situation for the whole industry. Analyzing their ticket sales and occupancy, Singham Again roared in front ahead of its release with staggering pre-booking sales.
While Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 opened the pro booking sales earlier, this got them nothing in return as Singham Again defeated them with more tickets sold before its release. However, at the time of writing, BB3 is slightly ahead of Rohit Shetty’s cop universe in terms of ticket sales on BookMyShow. With around 7 thousand tickets sold for Singham Again in the last hour, BB3 is rocketing the crowd with more than 9 thousand ticket sales per hour on its first Thursday.
According to several rumors, the makers of Singham Again might be inflating the numbers and have processed some corporate bookings initially to boost their collection. The makers of Singham Again have been accused by numerous press and social media users of using corporate booking to exaggerate box office receipts.
It has been alleged that the box office statistics stated by the film’s makers and those reported by trade analysts differ by ₹8–10 crore. Social media users have speculated that the significant discrepancy could be caused by self-bookings or corporate reservations.
According to several users, even BB3 makers might be involved in the scam but given the positive word of mouth for the film, people are visiting theatres to watch Kartik Aaryan’s starrer. The same can be said for Ajay Devgn’s action-drama but the reports say otherwise. Whether the makers are using corporate bookings to boost their collections or not, BB3 is giving tough competition to Singham Again as of now and things might go downhill from here for Rohit Shetty and the team.
