On the 27th of September, NTR’s major and highly anticipated Devara made its theatrical debut, and it was a huge hit at the box office. Almost a week later, the film was declared a Box Office hit and continues to dominate the scene despite several other regional as well as mainstream films on its way.
The Nizam and Andhra Pradesh alone contributed Rs 150 crore, or half of the total worldwide revenue, which is in the region of Rs 300 crore. Tamil Nadu and Karnataka have contributed an additional Rs 33 crore to the total. In the Hindi version, the film has made a respectable contribution of around Rs 49 crore to the total receipts.
It earned 7.95 crores on its first day of release in Hindi, which was a great surprise. Good fortune continues, and Koratala Savi’s directing has held up well thus far. Devara earned 2.40 crores at the box office on Thursday. This represents a significant decline of 66% in comparison to the 7.15 crores received on Gandhi Jayanti.
This was the first time the numbers have fallen below 4 crore. However, there is nothing to be concerned about because the weekend is quickly approaching and the foot traffic will start to increase this evening. With no such huge competition in sight, Devara would surely have boosted growth in the upcoming week.
The Jr. NTR movie now has a week to make as much money as possible. Alia Bhatt starrer Jigra and Rajkummar Rao and Tripti Dimri’s starrer Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video would be taking the centre stage come next week, which will surely affect Devara’s domination in the North.
