It’s as if Martin is just setting itself up for defeat with its absence of indian advertising. You cannot simply release a dubbed movie in the Hindi heartland and expect it to spontaneously catch fire.
This one is really dangerous though, with Jigra coming out the same day, with Alia Bhatt’s star power, and Dharma Productions behind it. Without hype, there is no promotion, and that’s where martin will fall.
Dhruva Sarja may be a big star in kannada cinema, but the bollywood audience is not really familiar with him. But how could Martin ever get a foothold in the Hindi speaking world without some introduction to his style and charm.
Meanwhile, Alia Bhatt is in Jigra, and people love her performances. That in itself would bring people, and then you have Jigra’s more aggressive marketing campaign.
And then there’s Rajkumar Rao and Tripti Dimri’s “Vicky Vidya Ka Wo Wala Video”. There’s another movie that would take away attention Martin wouldn’t even be able to get noticed. This movie seems to be setting up for a disaster, unless it has something really unique.
