Bobby’s exemplary antagonistic performance in the Prakash Jha web series ‘Aashram’ became very popular with the audience and especially to a novel category of viewers that the actor has the potential to carry the attention and need for the film.
Furthermore, the success of ‘Animal’ earned him many offers across other industries for the role of an antagonist which are some upcoming big-budget pan-Indian flicks. Tamil movie ‘Kanguva’ will be the first film of the upcoming days where the actor is expected to play the role of Udhiran, a direct and main antagonist to the movie. Also, he is expected to make a brief appearance in the Telugu language film ‘Devara’ which can lead to a full-time main antagonist for its second installment.
Furthermore, the actor is on board for another Tamil flick temporarily named ‘Thalapathy 69’ to which he is expected to play the same and is directed by H. Vinodh. Again, he will be playing the role of ‘Emperor Aurangazeb’ for Power Star Pawan Kalyan’s Hari Hara Veera Mallu, which is again a Telugu film directed by Krish Jagarlamudi.
However, this can affect the career of the actor as the chance of missing the versatility in characters and the scope of becoming a main lead or protagonist might be diminishing. This may later influence his market value which can be competitive.
On an important note, the case study of a well-known actor clearly defines the matter of the issue. Being a popular figure for his profound performance, the continuous selection of his scripts to where he becomes the antagonist becomes an overnight success. But this drastically affected the films in which he became the protagonist. This led the actor to officially confirm that he will not attempt a ‘villain’ role for a while.
