It raised curiosity in onlookers and if word got around that it was not just pure slapstick but had sufficient situational comedy, it all snowballed.
And the numbers speak for themselves. On its first day, VVKWWV brought in a tidy ₹5.71 crore, while Jigra went slightly behind with ₹4.55 crore. For a film that was not expected to lead, opening day shows that people were more inclined for light entertainment. The gap in earning is suggestive-a motion of audience-goers were into humor rather than raw action.
Holiday weekends usually favor fun, easy-going across every front, and VVKWWV very well fit the bill. Perhaps people wanted to unwind with a bit of fun and laughter without too strict on their minds. And if fairness is to have a say-word of mouth can work wonders. Once a group hears others praising it, wells-when compared to Jigra, it was straight-over.
