Bollywood was floating on the power of folklore for a while, but who thought “Ramayana” will make a comeback?
The wait is finally over, because today on October 7th the trailer of “Singham Again” is finally launched introducing us with the avengers of the Cop Verse of Bollywood.
But, Rohit Shetty kept a modern twist in this movie which we get from the trailer.
Now the question is the modern twist of what?
The “Singham Again” trailer gave the total vibe of retailing the “Ramayana”.
Where Ajay Devgan plays the role of Sri Ram, and Kareena Kapoor Khan, “Ma Sita”.
The trailer says, “There has been a tradition in India, when Mother Sita is abducted, Lanka has burned”.
The entire trailer told the story of Ramayana in a modern context, where we see Simba as Hanuman, Tiger Shroff’s character as Lakshman, and Akshay Kumar as Sooryavanshi as Jatayu, probably because his entry happened using a helicopter.
And how can we forget Arjun Kapoor as Ravana.
Now, in Bollywood we have already got movies like “Brahmāstra” where we technically don’t see similarities with Ramayana but there are parts which tell the story.
Also, “Vedaa” did an amazing job with the same context but holding a real issue of the society.
If this is true that Rohit Shetty, made a retailing of Ramayana with “Singham Again” then it will be incredible.
Because, making a modern retailing is way better than making a poor adaptation.
But then again we have to rethink this idea of projecting Ramayana in the Cop Verse, will it be worth it?
From the trailer we got the idea that Ajay Devgan, Akshaye Kumar and Ranveer Singh will deliver an incredible performance.
The cast of “Singham Again” includes Ajay Devgan, Deepika Padukone, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Akshaye Kumar, Tiger Shroff, Jacky Shroff, Arjun Kapoor and Ranveer Singh.
This will be a blockbuster this Diwali because “Singham Again” will be in theatres on 1st November 2024, but wait a minute!
Don’t get lost in the maze of “Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3”.
