“Jigra”, with just 10 days since its release, is a very important movie for Bollywood. There are not many instances where a female-led action movie garners this much hype. Considering the talented minds involved in its making, it can be fairly said that the movie might be a game-changer in many ways.
With its potential to break norms, the makers are leaving no stone unturned in its promotion. They even collaborated with Diljit Dosanjh, one of the biggest hitmakers of this time, to compose a beautiful song, which has fared well for the movie. This is unlike the similar tactic used by the makers of “Kalki”, who also featured a Diljit Dosanjh song, but it didn’t seem to fit into their universe and was criticized for it.
Here, the makers of “Jigra” have taken a more sensible route by keeping the number of songs limited so as not to disrupt the flow of storytelling. The song by Diljit is being praised by audiences as a heartfelt motivational track. For the second song, they have opted for a tried-and-tested formula by using the evergreen “Ek Hazaron Mein Meri Behna Hai”, as it fits perfectly with the movie’s situation.
This is one of the rare occasions in Bollywood where remakes can be praised, thanks to the amazing composers and lyricists. The song has its own freshness while keeping the original feel alive. The director of the movie understands the importance of using the right music at the right place. He has pulled off a similar stunt in his earlier venture, “Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota”, by using a vintage song during a fight sequence.
Apart from the songs, the background score of the movie adds a modern touch, which shows the careful thought put into the film’s making. Let us know some of your favorite remake songs!
