With less than 10 days to its release, the promotion of “Jigra” speaks volumes, with ticket windows mostly empty, especially in the Hindi market. Despite this, the movie has generated significant buzz.
With its only competition from the South being “Devara”, the producers are considering a pan-India release strategy. While the dilution of the pan-India concept is a concern, as we’ve discussed before, it offers “Jigra” an added advantage—something worth noting.
This will also be the biggest film for Vasan Bala so far, and his innovative marketing strategies could result in a strong release. Recent reports suggest that the reviews for “Joker” haven’t been as favorable as the first movie, which might lead audiences to shift their attention towards “Jigra”. Additionally, its only other competition in Bollywood is Rajkummar Rao’s “Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video”.
The Telugu trailer for “Jigra” was shared by Ram Charan. While this may seem like a small step, it could potentially help build hype in the Telugu market if the film connects with the masses.
If “Jigra” can emotionally resonate with audiences, it might even reach single-screen theaters, which aren’t its primary target. With the festive season, including Durga Puja, approaching, the movie could benefit from the holiday crowd as well. Do let us know your thoughts.
