In the current scenario, many films based on women empowerment are released every year in India. Some of them turn out to be really good and go on to bring laurels for the country. Recent example is Laapta Ladies, which discusses women education and women independence in an entertaining and sentimental manner. It is a period film set in the early 2000s. On the same theme, a film Ayushmati Geeta- Matric Pass is about to be released on October 18th.
The film takes place in the time when education of women was not given much importance. In such times, a father is adamant on educating her daughter Geeta. Kundan’s family wishes to marry him to Geeta, but her father is not ready to marry her before she passes her matric exams. When she fails her exams, the marriage is called off. What follows is Geeta’s quest against society and stereotypes to pursue her education.
The film features a great cast of talented actors with Atul Srivastava and Alka Amin. The trailer for the film was released recently and by the looks of it, it looks like the film has been well made. It has the potential to impress the audience of the country.
But unfortunately, the film is not getting good marketing for itself. This lack of marketing will make it difficult for the film to thrive in the box office. Its release is set to be on 18th October and about 3 days are left for it. Still many people haven’t even heard of it. With its release so close, the film’s bad marketing is sure to kill the potential it had.
Laapta Ladies, with a good reception from the audience became quite famous and recently became India’s official submission for the Oscars. On the other hand, due to bad marketing, a similar film, Ayushmati Geeta, is on the verge of failing.
