Match Fixing VS Sabarmati: Who’s Gonna Win The Clash?

As November 15, 2024, approaches, movie buffs are in for a cinematic battle as Match Fixing and Sabarmati are all set to hit the screens on the same day. With their historical setting, both of these films are expected to be captivating stories, but everyone is curious as to which one will hold viewers’ attention the most.

Match Fixing a political thriller directed by Kedaar Gaekwad based on the book “The Game Behind Saffron Terror” by Kanwar Khatana promises to unwrap a shocking conspiracy that had shaken the nation, where covert plots and secret plans of major terrorist attacks had been exposed from the hidden plans of the 26/11 Mumbai attacks.

The film is a story revolving around Col. Avinash Patwardhan, a decorated Indian Army officer, who is framed for this mastermind activity. Therefore, Match Fixing with its plot on political manipulations will appeal to anyone who loves watching high stakes dramas and real-life conspiracy thrillers.

Sabarmati is another film starring Vikrant Massey and Raashi Khanna, also featuring Ridhi Dogra. The film is directed by Ranjan Chandel and Dheeraj Sarna. The film throws light on the tragic incidents on February 27, 2002, inside Sabarmati Express near Godhra, Gujarat.

Going into the concerns and truth behind the tragic incident, Sabarmati wants to bring out everything unknown from that single instance in the Indian story. This movie is expected to be interesting for those people who love emotive dramas besides historical narration.

While both films ground themselves through historical events, both are appealed to through these events from the perspective of their targeted audience. Match Fixing comes from the thriller aspect concerning politics and their issues which make it compelling for everyone to watch throughout. This is different because Sabarmati appeals by giving much emotional depth of a critical event and accurately depicts them.

As going by recent trends, Match Fixing might have an upper hand with its riveting storyline and with political thrillers currently at the height of their box-office popularity. That is not to say that Sabarmati is out of the running. It’s incredible storytelling and emotional value may just win over viewers in massive enough numbers to make it a strong contender in audience appreciation.

In the end, the movie that has a deep emotional connection with audiences in addition to having an engaging plot will emerge as the true winner.

If Match Fixing is able to maintain its grip on its thrilling, suspenseful plot, it will dominate; nevertheless, if it becomes overly dramatic or loses its grip on the story, the audience may reject the film. Sabarmati, which has a more specialized audience, could win if it can tell a moving and realistic story of historical events without resorting to theatrics.

The November 15 box office competition will put both the directors’ skills to the test and the audience’s preference for content over show.
