There is a huge web of websites that provide movies on their release day and they too have a fixed and consistent audience. Not only do they damage the dignity of a film, but they are also a huge threat to cyber security in India as they change their IP addresses constantly each day. It also poses huge harm to the viewers as some of these websites also ask for users’ credentials while logging in.
Numerous films have suffered financial losses due to potential leaks. Piracy might come to a fortunate end as one of the admins of these websites was recently arrested.
The incident started at Thiruvananthapuram when one of the members of the gang was caught recording Raayan IP addresses in July of 2024. Now, their admin has confessed how they used to record such films and upload them hours after the initial release of the film.
He stated how they used a Rs 5,000 Camera to record a film on the day of its release by taking five tickets for the film. The person seated in the middle would cover himself with a blanket and then secretly record the film.
