Analysis:
There has been a dearth of good original shows on Prime Video from September itself. There were ‘Call Me Bae’ and ‘Thalaivettiyaan Paalayam’ in September. But for October there is none. There is a reality series named ‘The Tribe’ with some rising influencers which caught some hype. But there is nothing else. ‘Fisaddi’ and ‘Gutar Gu S2’ are two partnered shows with Amazon MiniTV. But for original movies and shows, this lack is disconcerting. Prime Video has always been known for its wonderful originals but it has been quite long since we got something worth remembering. In the list of licensed movies, we have got movies like ‘Stree 2’, ‘Zwigato’, ‘Gaganachari’, ‘Kadaisi Ulaga Por’ etc which got some good reviews and have gathered quite a decent number of viewers too. But the overall performance of the platform can not be rated more than 4 out of 10 for October 2024.
