For the combined PVR and INOX theater networks in India, there is a single app and booking platform called PVR INOX. For years, PVR INOX has been demonizing itself, frightening viewers in several ways like the chain of national theaters has done. The list is endless, ranging from outrageous food and beverage prices to subpar experiences.
Just before National Cinema Day, one of the biggest release days in the Indian market, PVR INOX has now collapsed. The audience was severely inconvenienced by the PVR and INOX apps ceasing to function. Not only did the software cause embarrassment, but the website also crashed.
This has certainly frustrated a lot of users who were on the verge of booking their tickets for any kind of entertainment show. With National Cinema Day approaching, ticket sales for each movie are on the rise, and with a sudden crash, it all goes in vain. Films that might have had loads of bookings during this time would suffer because of this bug.
According to several claims, the app hasn’t been responding since the afternoon of 19th September and continues to be a huge problem for various users. This isn’t the first time that the app has fumbled at such a crucial phase. Users complained about the malfunctioning of the app during this year’s Independence Day when the app suddenly stopped working.
Several users were unable to book or even view their booked tickets despite various attempts. This shows that the main problem resides in the database server of the app. Due to huge loads of traffic and users accessing the app at the same time, the crashing of the app showcases how the database server is affected by these attempts.
This can surely be fixed by having a large database that can handle requests easily. With more improved functionality and frequent updates, PVR INOX might fix this issue as soon as possible and get rid of these crashes during crucial times.
