There have been lots of talk abou how big the Diwali clash is going to be for the Hindi film industry as Rohit Shetty’s ‘Singham Again’ and Anees Bazmee’s ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ face each other off at the box office.
But is it really an either/or situation? Maybe not. It’s the holidays, there hasn’t been a Hindi film release for weeks now and people might actually be happy to have options when going out with family this festive season. And who knows many might end up watching both.
After all a healthy competition does more good than bad and it might just be the case for ‘Singham Again’ and ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’. Also, it ain’t the first time there’s going to be such a clash and infact there have been bigger face offs, to be honest.
There are various factors that support the above viewpoint. To begin with, both these films have star power, though not equal given the multiple cameos in Rohit Shetty’s ‘Singham Again’ but one cannot deny Kartik Aaryan has definitely grown as a star and then there’s the women power with Vidya Balan, Madhuri Dixit and Triptii Dimri working in favour of ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’.
Also, the two films belong to different and popular genres, which are both audience’s favourite and great for pulling masses to theatres. There’s also the franchise factor where both the films have had successful past instalments.
Overall, it’s the Hindi film industry which will benefit from these big Diwali releases because both the films have their own followers who are eagerly waiting for their release and more than an “either/or” thing it might actually be an “and” thing, with many opting for both ‘Singham Again’ and ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’.
