One of the most spine chilling, folklore horror is again back in the theatres, as Bollywood is right now on a ride of nostalgia the re release of the 2018 movie “Tumbbad” feels like a blessing .
Directed by Rahi Anil Barve, “Tumbbad” explores the theme of greed, and how it can consume you. It quickly became a cult classic and now with the re-release fans are ecstatic about it.
The story talks about a mythical god names Haster who has been cursed by the other gods and is trapped inside a cave in the village of Tumbbad, to avoid his unending poverty the main protagonist Vinayak Rao, goes to the cave of Haster to retrieve some gold, the end result is known to all, his greed costed his life.
Now as “Tumbbad” is back in the theatres fans are overjoyed to feel the thrill once again on the big screen.
But, this time with a twist which fans weren’t expecting. Sohum Shah announced that there will be a “Tumbbad 2”.
The overflowing joy of fans is nothing but a treat to our eyes.
“Tumbbad” once again proved that a good story will still attract the audience after years. When it was initially released with a budget of 15cr, it didn’t make half of its investment.
As the fans are super happy with the re-release, fans flooded twitter with their fair share of opinion.
“Tumbbad” when it was first released gathered a cult audience who loved the work and appreciated it, but now with its re-release, audiences are drawn towards the cinemas because right now they are carving for more mythological based movies.
If you pay keen attention to movies like “Stree 2” , “Munjya” , all the recent hits are based on folktales, and Tumbbad successfully delivered it once again to the audience .
All in all, after 6 years “Tumbbad” is successful to win the audience’s heart once again.
