After a lot of hassle, the trailer of The Sabarmati Report is here. The movie is based on a highly politicised and inflammable incident…
But before we go into that,
After the phenomenon, we remember as The Kashmir Files, a lot of things permanently changed in the way films are made in India. The dynamics of audience and filmmakers became a lot more political and people started demanding more and more such films. The film which benefited the most from this change was The Kerala Story. It talks about the conversion of Hindu women into Islam and then their involvement in terrorism.
But, the byproducts were a lot of utter trash. The film had no substance, the script was imported from WhatsApp/Facebook and perhaps that’s the reason people ignored it too.
The Sabarmati Report is not from that category. It actually looks like a very promising film. Unlike cheap films, it is highly subtle and doesn’t keep a sword to attack anybody. In a highly subtle and sharp manner, the trailer said what it had to.
You see, there is a lot of contrast between Hindi and English. It is to represent what happened on the ground (Hindi) and what was shown by the media (English).
The performance of Vikrant Massey, Riddhi Dogra and Rashii Khanna also looks good if we go by the trailer.
People are definitely very excited about it. Primarily due to the content. Let’s see what the film does at the box office.
