Fateh, starring Sonu Sood, and opening January 10, 2025, is an action-packed, cybercrimedriven plot that generates many ripples. Known for acting, Sood plays a much bigger part behind the camera. Will he be able to live up to the high standards?
International cast, featuring Naseeruddin Shah and Jacqueline Fernandez, plus filming locales in the USA, Russia, and Poland has made it a worldwide appeal. But Bollywood has not yet explored the cybercrime subject fully, so it is unsure if Fateh will contribute to anything new in the story.
This is one big challenge for Sood, who is a writer and a director too. In addition to star power, directing requires technical expertise and an interesting storyline. Though he has a good acting background, this is still a virgin territory for him.
Bollywood often overhypes action films at the expense of content and gives more importance to show. Fateh might thus fall into this trap with its spectacular action sequences and minimal conceptual depth. Is it exciting enough yet worth content?
It is the turn of Faith to live up to the hype. Only time will tell whether the movie will be able to meet audience expectations with an unproven director at the helm.
