“The world needs to know who Catherine Ravenscroft really is.” And we are just days away from learning more about Cate Blanchett’s character in Alfonso Cuaron’s Disclaimer, an upcoming 7-part psychological thriller series for Apple TV+.
Disclaimer marks Cuaron’s first collaboration with the Apple TV+ streaming platform, which results from the deal he made with the streamer nearly five years ago. The series follows Catherine Ravenscroft (Blanchett), who has become a reputed author by focusing on the transgressions and misdeeds of others. However, her world turns upside down after she receives a copy of a novel from an unknown author. The novel makes her the protagonist, consisting of a story that unveils her darkest secrets. As the trailer progresses, we begin to see the toll that Catherine and her family face due to her exposed secrets.
The forthcoming series marks Cuarón’s return to television after a decade, with his previous work being the NBC sci-fi drama Believe, which lasted only one season.
In addition to Blanchett, the series treasures Kevin Kline, Sacha Baron Cohen, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Louis Partridge, Leila George, and Lesley Manville.
