Guddu bhaiya fans, assemble! The makers of the highly anticipated investigative thriller Raakh have officially dropped important details about the project, including its release date. Headlined by a powerhouse cast featuring Ali Fazal, Sonali Bendre, and Aamir Bashir, the dark psychological drama is locked in to premiere exclusively on Prime Video next month.
We got the first official teaser for Raakh nearly two months ago, which didn’t reveal much but teased the characters of the cast members involved. Now, we have more details about the project.
The series takes place in a town gripped by sudden terror following the mysterious disappearance of two teenagers. What starts as a standard missing-persons case quickly spirals into a sprawling nightmare for the local community and the devastated families involved.
As a determined police officer digs deeper into the investigation, he is pushed to his absolute limits, uncovering a disturbing underworld of violence, deep-seated trauma, and long-buried town secrets.
The makers have revealed that they plan to explore elements like guilt, psychology, and the thin line between vengeance and justice, apart from presenting a compelling whodunit.
Director and executive producer Prosit Roy, who previously delivered the landmark crime series Paatal Lok, described this project as one of the most creatively fulfilling experiences of his career. Roy noted that he was instantly drawn to the script by creators Anusha Nandakumar and Sandeep Saket because it balances high-stakes suspense with a deeply grounded exploration of trauma.
With its morally layered writing, eerie atmosphere, and June 12 release date rapidly approaching, Raakh is easily shaping up to be one of the definitive Indian true-crime style thrillers of the year. It will arrive on Prime Video. Stay tuned for more updates.
