After facing some very serious allegations regarding POCSO Act and violation of minors, ALT Digital Media Entertainment Limited came up with an official clarification stating that they are fully complaint with all applicable laws including the POCSO Act and that any references to engagement of minors by the company is entirely incorrect.
While this is a usual procedure followed by any media house following such accusations, what’s noteworthy in this clarification is how it tries to absolve Ekta Kapoor and her mother Shobha Kapoor from it all.
It states that they “are not involved in the day to day operations of the company” and infact further goes on and tries to shift the focus to the creative teams handling such content for the platform.
No further details have been unveiled as of now as the matter is sub-judicial but the above is enough to demonstrate the kind of power Ekta Kapoor, one of the most influential person in the entertainment industry, has.
But whatever the media house says, it’s a known fact that any content wouldn’t pass through without the knowledge of the concerned authority. Moreover, it’s not just the highest in command’s lawful obligation but also his/her ethical responsibility to keep things in check.
