If there is one thing that never goes out of style, it is probably quirkiness. Well, imagine what happens when this quirkiness is combined with the reduced patience levels of old age, and what do you get? Obviously, an angry old man.
Such is the case with Vijay, as in the protagonist of upcoming Hindi-language sports drama film from Netflix, ‘Vijay 69’. Starring Anupam Kher as the titular quintessential grumpy-fed-up-with-this-lazy-generation 69-year old, who in the spur of his flickering mood, decides to compete in a triathlon contest.
Also featuring Chunky Panday and Mihir Ahuja in leading roles, the film is all set to debut exclusively on the platform on November 8. The vibrant hues of the recently released trailer, though coupled with snippets of arguments, reprimands, and lectures, follow the journey of a man who is en route to challenging age stereotypes.
Desperate to leave his mark on the world as a great man that people remember fondly, Vijay vows to prove that he is in fact, still young. The means to his ends? A swimming-cycling-running marathon, of course! As expected, this seemingly incredulous idea is met with its fair share of laughs, belittling, and rejection.
