Netflix India has unveiled a gripping trailer for its upcoming horror thriller, Baramulla, starring Manav Kaul. Directed by Aditya Suhas Jambhale (best known for Article 370), the film appears to be a compelling fusion of a tense crime drama and a bone-chilling supernatural horror, all set against the breathtaking yet turbulent backdrop of the Kashmir Valley.
The story unfolds where the real and the supernatural collide. When children begin to mysteriously disappear from the mist-covered valleys, the no-nonsense DSP Ridwaan Shafi Sayyid (played by Manav Kaul) is dispatched to the town of Baramulla to investigate.
However, this is no ordinary missing-persons case. Ridwaan, a man haunted by his own past, must navigate not only the region’s socio-political unrest and long-buried secrets, but also an ancient darkness that defies all logic.
What begins as a standard investigation soon turns haunting when Gulnaar, Ridwaan’s wife, and their children start sensing an eerie presence in their new home. They hear footsteps echoing in empty corridors and smell a non-existent dog, signs of something sinister lurking beneath the surface.
The trailer masterfully sets up a delicate tension, where the officer’s pursuit of truth in the valley collides with the supernatural horror unravelling inside his own home, threatening his family’s fragile sense of safety.
Visually, the production looks top-notch. The cinematography captures Kashmir’s ethereal beauty while contrasting it with dark, moody visuals that build a palpable sense of dread and isolation.
If this blend of police procedural, psychological drama, and genuine horror delivers on its promise, Baramulla could emerge as one of Netflix India’s most captivating and memorable releases.
Baramulla premieres on Netflix on November 7. Stay tuned for more updates, and check out the trailer right here!
