Have you heard of this Hindi film Kooki?
Probably not if you can’t remember our reporting from May. Some movies are meant not for the masses but for the selected few who want to have an intellectual stimulation from cinema. Take the case of “Three of Us”. The movie is not something you can merely entertain yourself with. It leaves you wondering and perhaps disturbed by the questions it raises.
So, these films are not meant for the theater going masses but some OTT audiences who choose to enjoy it.
Kooki is just like that. The movie is set in Assam and it has a lot of Assamese influence in it. The movie talks about a non-Assamese girl who has a lot to deal with in a space that doesn’t accept her.
It is quite a thought provoking film and was screened at Cannes this year. Unfortunately it failed to grab any award but it is still a film that art cinema lovers would enjoy watching.
So, Kooki is directed by Pranab J Deka. It stars Ritisha Khaund, Rajesh Tailang, Ritu Shivpuri and many more.
If you are someone who enjoys watching artistic films then you may watch it on Prime Video.
