Disney+ Hotstar has launched the teaser of it’s upcoming direct to digital release ’Sweet Dreams’ and this one takes the “person of your dreams” pretty literally. Helmed by Victor Mukherjee, ‘Sweet Dreams’ will premiere on Disney+ Hotstar on 24th January, 2025.
The teaser video shows Dia (Mithila Palkar) and Kenny (Amol Parashar) stuck in each other’s dreams on a loop. Not having met each other physically ever has them wondering as to why and how are they repeatedly appearing in their dreams.
Both Amol Parashar and Mithila Palkar are excellent performers and while there’s no question on their talent, ‘Sweet Dreams’ tries to play on a very cliched, obsolete kind of track. Despite the urban, modern day orientation, the story lacks realism and relies too much on fantasy.
Written and directed by Victor Mukherjee, ‘Sweet Dreams’ also stars Meiyang Chang, Sauraseni Maitra, Mohini Shimpi, Sukkarann Vats, and Ayesha Adlakha.
‘Sweet Dreams’ is produced Jyoti Deshpande for Jio Studios and Neha Anand and Pranjal Khandhdiya for Mango People Media and will start streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 24th January, 2025.
