There are several films that tackle domestic problems and showcase the ideal state of the country with a social message. This was the case with the newest psychological thriller Do Patti which was recently released on Netflix.
Many people were eagerly anticipating the OTT release of the Kajol and Kriti Sanon film. The story follows an inspector’s relentless search for information regarding an attempted murder and centers on two twin sisters who are hiding something from one another.
It also touches on the topic of domestic violence and tries to create a suspenseful environment throughout its runtime. The film, which was directed by Shashanka Chaturvedi, attracted a lot of interest prior to its premiere on Netflix.
While this movie had so much to offer in terms of portrayal of Domestic Violence and showcasing how it impacts lives, the film didn’t live up to the expectations and fell flat over the audience.
This film was billed as a psychological thriller, and right from the start, they attempted to depict two characters—one black and one white. However, it turns out that both of the characters had morally dubious qualities.
You can blame Kanika Dhillon for the improper writing which in turn made the execution of the film extremely poor. Getting mixed reviews from the audience, the film had good potential but sloppy writing and lack of promotions led to an instant failure for the film.
With a stellar cast including Kajol, Kriti Sanon and Shaheer Sheikh, the film struggles to get a good response from the audience. Felling short in fulfilling the audience’s expectations, Do Patti underdelivered upon its release.
