The festive season is not only a good time for families to bond, but also spend quality time together. This often manifests itself in the form of watching a good film with the entirety of your family, at least during one of the holidays that festivals bring about.
While this presents as a good opportunity for new and upcoming films to gain viewership, that can only happen if the title appeals to the general audience. Take for example ‘Do Patti, the recently released thriller drama from Netflix, which stars Kriti Sanon, Kajol and Shaheer Sheikh as the leading trio.
While the film was anticipated to perform well in terms of viewing minutes, its performance on the other hand, has been quite lukewarm. The feature has reportedly amassed a total of nearly 50 L viewing minutes since its release, which translates to the film being viewed a total number of around 36,000 times, in the past week.
While this is an above-average figure, the film has underperformed, considering the major online buzz that it had generated. So much so that there are quite a few non-English titles that have performed better than ‘Do Patti’. With a few holidays left for this festive season to conclude, these figures will hopefully rise!
