Mirzapur is a landmark series in many ways. Not only is it an extremely successful series but it is also one of the reasons Indian OTT could establish itself in the pre-COVID world. You see, Sacred Games on Netflix India and Mirzapur on Prime Video India are the two major series that were released in 2018. They changed the course of Indian OTT as they were near perfect series with a lot of blockbuster ingredients.
Season 2 came and it was more or less good. People had a few complaints but they never really hated the show. Then came Season 3 this year. It is such a problematic situation as the series was massively trolled. Yes, it still earned a lot of views but that was all due to the legacy of the first two seasons. You see, the third season did not have anything appreciable that would earn it love from the audiences.
