Meezaan Jafri and Harshvardhan Rane are prepared to take down criminals and goalposts in their newest film, The Miranda Brothers. The movie was advertised to have an intriguing plot in the sports thriller genre and is scheduled for digital release on JioCinema.
Sanjay Gupta, renowned for his work on Kaabil and Kaante, is directing The Miranda Brothers, which was anticipated to infuse the sports drama genre with emotional depth and passion.
However, with some early reviews from critics, the film is not as thrilling and exciting as it sounds. Many football movies, such as Bend It Like Beckham and Shaolin Soccer, entertained viewers with their gripping stories. On OTT, The Miranda Brothers strives for that degree of immersion. But in the end, the Harshvardhan Rane and Meezaan Jaffri-led saga falls short of expectations despite its best attempts.
Although the idea behind The Miranda Brothers seems intriguing, the film suffers greatly from a sloppy plot, poor dialogues and improper editing. The writers, Sameer Hafiz and Milap Zaveri attempted to craft a gripping tale of brotherly love, grief, and the impact of tragedy on people but didn’t hit the mark throughout the film according to several critics.
Another huge problem with the film is the characters it showcases. While it could have been delivered in a more impactful way, the main leads are not established well by the director.
The Miranda Brothers might have been a gripping, captivating film that expertly juggled the football sequences with human drama, but it vanishes abruptly after only a few minutes. As it prepares for a digital release, it’s up to the viewers how they form their opinion on the film.
