‘Do Patti’ trailer came out today and it was quite intriguing and well cut. Looks like Netflix got another good one joining its library of Indian films. But why are we not seeing an all out promotion for the film.
Starring Kajol and Kriti Sanon in the lead, ‘Do Patti’ has looked promising ever since it was announced months ago with a teaser. Nothing in between and then a few days ago Netflix revealed the release date, a song from the film and now the trailer.
All this is just basic and minimal promotional stuff that has come out and there’s nothing extraordinary or special about it. The audience hasn’t got anything else that create hype around the film and honestly it’s disappointing because ‘Do Patti’ does look promising and seems to have quite the potential.
There’s a lot of first time things about ‘Do Patti’. It’s Kajol first outing as a cop, Kriti will be seen in a double role for the first time, the male lead is doing his debut feature film and so is the director. It’s also Kriti’s debut production venture. So it’s not just exciting for the cast and crew but also for the audience who will see something fresh and from a new perspective.
Moreover, Kriti’s latest films ‘Crew’ and ‘Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya’ have been a hit and that makes ‘Do Patti’ even more important for Netflix which should definitely be more enthusiastic about the film.
With only ten days left for its premiere, if the promotions don’t pick up now for ‘Do Patti’ it could be a lost opportunity for both Netflix and makers of the film. What’s seen is what sells and Netflix knows this pretty well but alas it’s not implementing it well these days when it comes to good Indian content.
