A growing number of Jio users are facing trouble accessing their promised OTT benefits, particularly JioHotstar. Despite successful recharges under eligible plans, many report that Hotstar simply doesn’t work.
The problem? There’s no clarity on activation.
Users say they aren’t receiving any login credentials or instructions post-recharge. When they try accessing Hotstar using their Jio number or app, the service doesn’t recognize their entitlement. What’s worse, customer support from both Jio and Hotstar has been vague at best, each redirecting users to the other without offering a real fix.
This confusion has led to rising frustration among users who expected a seamless experience. Social media is full of complaints tagging both platforms, with screenshots of successful recharges and non-functional OTT access.
The issue goes beyond isolated glitches, it points to a broken integration between JioHotstar and Jio. If a recharge claims to include a subscription, users shouldn’t have to chase down access or toggle through vague FAQs and support threads. The process should be automatic, or at the very least, clearly guided.
In an already competitive streaming market, such technical lapses can quickly sour user sentiment. When people pay for a combo plan, they expect it to work, without needing to troubleshoot it themselves.
Unless addressed quickly, this lack of accountability might push users away from bundled telecom-streaming offers altogether.
