Netflix is preparing to release Accused, a psychological thriller that leans heavily into moral uncertainty and emotional drama. The film stars Konkona Sen Sharma and Pratibha Rannta and is directed by Anubhuti Kashyap. Set in London, the story follows a well known doctor whose carefully built personal and professional life begins to collapse after she is accused of sexual misconduct. Instead of focusing on courtroom drama, the film stays close to the emotional consequences of accusation and how quickly public opinion can harden when facts remain unclear.
One of the film’s most talked about aspects is its focus on a relationship tested by doubt rather than proof. Dharmatic Entertainment has given us some very interesting films in the recent past. Sadly, most of them were not good enough to enjoy. Regardless, we hope that Netflix India and Dharmatic Entertainment work on their content style. Pratibha Ranta received a lot of good comments about her performance in Lapata Ladies. Naturally, she is a very good actress. She needs to prove it again and again because the audience on OTT is not very forgiving.
Produced by Dharmatic Entertainment, the film continues Netflix’s continued interest in character-driven stories that provoke reflection. With Konkona’s reputation for layered performances and Pratibha’s growing presence after recent successes, expectations are high. Accused will start streaming on Netflix from February 27. We will review it as soon as it comes, so keep reading Binged.
