Fans tuned in eagerly to catch WWE Monday Night Raw on Netflix, only to be greeted with a frustrating surprise, a black screen with only audio, both during the live broadcast and on replay.
Social media is now filled with posts from angry subscribers asking the same question: why isn’t Netflix fixing this?
The WWE-Netflix partnership has been touted as a game-changer, bringing one of the world’s biggest wrestling shows to one of the largest streaming platforms.
But technical glitches like these risk undermining that promise. Wrestling fans are loyal, vocal, and global. When they pay for access and end up with a broken stream, the backlash is swift and widespread.
What makes matters worse is the silence.
Despite “many MANY posts” highlighting the same problem, Netflix has yet to issue a clear response. For a company that prides itself on user experience, leaving fans in the dark, literally and figuratively, creates the impression that Indian audiences (and global ones facing the same issue) aren’t being prioritized.
Live sports and entertainment demand reliability. If Netflix wants to establish itself in this space, glitches like this cannot become the norm. Fans want more than apologies, they want fixes. Until then, the black screen of Raw stands as a black mark on Netflix’s much-hyped foray into WWE streaming.
And really, Netflix was doing so good. Only thing is, they keep on messing up their live sports.
