How can a movie divert from the core message it was supposed to deliver?
“Amar Prem Ki Prem Kahani” is an absolute example for that.
“Amar Prem Ki Prem Kahani” is a 2024 Hindi movie directed by Hardik Gajjar, which explores the love between the new male protagonist, Amar and Prem.
In a world where LGBTQ+ community is now being accepted and embraced “Amar Prem Ki Prem Kahani” fails to stand up in its own category.
If you look into the casting Sunny Singh and Aditya Seal, we will see two very beautiful looking people, making no sense in an entire movie.
Furthermore, we have to understand that we are now standing in 2024 and Gay Romance is not a “taboo” any more, it’s more open and accepted, but this movie chose the highway.
With senseless, no existing chemistry, stereotypical background, this movie totally fails to serve the basic message it was supposed to deliver.
Even there was one kissing scene between the two characters which was blurred.
Now, in the industry where movies like “Shubh Mangal Zayada Saavdhan” exist, this movie feels like nothing.
Even the plot is baseless, and no strings are at all connected. Even at a point where both families are okay with their son being gay there is a problem about their community.
Now, on a good note this movie might have some chances to reach those who are still under the closest, but the poor marketing strategy, blocked the road.
With all fairness “Amar Prem Ki Prem Kahani” terribly failed to deliver what it was supposed to deliver, and if you don’t believe that, have a look it is streaming on JioCinema .
Congrats to team #LaapataLadies on becoming India’s official entry to Oscars 2025👏🏼

But was it the best option or were there others more worthy titles that got lost along the way?
Moreover, what makes #LaapataLadies the apt choice?
Here’s our POV👇🏼https://t.co/rrYJoZhaIV
