Amidst the chaos in the Indian OTT landscape this Independence Day week, Netflix’s Saare Jahan Se Accha has not only managed to stand out but also managed to win the hearts of the majority of its audience.
While the show itself focuses on two primary characters, played by Pratik Gandhi and Sunny Hinduja, in reality, it also became a test of which actor performed better. Both actors have done an amazing job with their respective characters, but it’s none other than Sunny Hinduja who has captured most of the audience’s attention.
The majority of critics and audiences alike are raving about Hinduja’s portrayal of the formidable ISI officer, Murtaza Malik. With a menacing charm and a quiet intensity, Hinduja has reportedly outshone Gandhi’s performance. The former looked more colourful, stylish, and menacing in his role as Murtaza Malik, whereas Gandhi, performing wonderfully, appeared more restrained, character-wise.
While Gandhi’s portrayal of the methodical RAW agent Vishnu Shankar is appreciated for its subtlety, it’s Hinduja who is delivering the more showy and captivating performance.

SAARE JAHAN SE ACCHA doesn't work hard or smart enough, but it can be pulpy fun. Suhail Nayyar and Sunny Hinduja are fantastic, the show should've been built around themhttps://t.co/t8ZTa58LVX

#SaareJahanSeAccha review by @shubhragupta: Sunny Hinduja and Suhail Nayyar steal the show, which peters off towards the endhttps://t.co/uORD2uFOe5

This isn’t a knock on Gandhi, a phenomenal actor in his own right, but rather a testament to Hinduja’s commanding screen presence and the depth he brings to his role.
This isn’t the first time something like this has happened with a project featuring Hinduja. Remember TVF’s Aspirants? Yes, Naveen Kasturia might have led the show, but it was Hinduja who stole viewers’ hearts playing Sandeep Bhaiya. His work was applauded so much that it made him more prominent than ever, ultimately prompting TVF to greenlight an entire new show based on this character.
In a crowded landscape of spy thrillers, Saare Jahan Se Accha stands out, but it’s Sunny Hinduja’s performance that makes this one truly memorable. Stay tuned for more updates.
