We were expecting a huge blockbuster from Saiyaara when it came to OTT. Well, the movie really did not disappoint us.
Directed by Mohit Suri, the film is led by Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda. It released in theaters on July 18, 2025. The film tells the story of Krish, a musician, and Vaani, a writer with early-onset Alzheimer’s.
At the box office the movie broke records. It grossed over ₹500 crore worldwide. It had one of the biggest opening weeks for a film led by debut actors in Hindi cinema.
On Netflix things got bigger. Within three days of its OTT release on September 12, 2025, Saiyaara became the number one non English film globally on Netflix’s top 10 non English films chart.
This matters because the film had already done very well in cinemas. Even so, becoming the most watched non English movie globally on Netflix so fast shows its appeal crossed borders. It beat many films that had bigger stars or longer exposure. Saiyaara proves that story and emotion can carry a film to global success even without marquee cast.
The film is bigger than many films led by superstars. Even movies like Animal, Jawan, and Fighter could not do what Saiyaara did. If the debutant stars maintain this streak then we will finally get promising young stars from Bollywood.
