An average young Indian man returning to his middle class small town home from a big metro city is a very relatable thing for most of us. Your family proudly tells about you to friends and family, but what happens when you return home after having lost your big MNC job?
Well that’s what Disney+ Hotstar’s ‘Ghar Waapsi’ is all about. It Is the story of Shekhar Dwivedi (Vishal Vashishtha) and how his life changes when he comes back to his family in Indore after being fired from work. Not to forget there are already a multitude of individual problems to deal with at home.
‘Ghar Waapsi’ explores the core theme of happiness of an individual vis a vis family and money. It is a feel-good drama that has the right balance of lighter vein fun and emotional drama.
The show is poignant exploration of homecoming and the tug of war between ambition and belonging. ‘Ghar Waapsi’ very well captures how bittersweet it can be return to a place from where you started and at the same time contemplating about the life you left behind. By the end of the show it makes you reflect on all you did and how important home is in all of it.
