The year 2024 is just about to be over. It went over like a flash and there are many insights and lessons that it would carry to next many years.
But, let’s talk about the Top 5 Indian films that became huge hits on Netflix India. These movies are mostly licensed films and they came to Netflix India only after running a test on the big screens.
But, these very movies were so exciting that people went on watching it weeks after weeks and thus we have the list.
Let’s have a look.
Maharaja: 19.7 Million (7 weeks)
Crew: 17.9 Million (4 weeks)
Laapataa Ladies: 17.1 Million (6 weeks)
Do Patti: 17 Million (4 weeks)
Lucky Baskhar: 16.9 Million (4 weeks)
The first movie in the list is Maharaja with a massive 19.7 million views. It is a huge huge hit not only on the big screens but also on OTT. It most certainly deserves to be on the top list because it is certainly a more than excellent movie that deserves all the appreciation.
Second one is Crew starring Tabu, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Kriti Sanon in the lead roles. The movie is a sort of sensual comedy that worked very very well with the theatrical as well as the OTT audience. People loved the movie through and through.
The third is Laapata Ladies. The Oscar contendor from India is a gem of a movie that doesn’t fail to enchant you even after multiple rewatches. Laapata Ladies is a huge hit on Netflix India and no wonder this is on the list. Let’s hope to see the film winning an Oscar next year.
Do Patti is the only Netflix India original in the list, so congratulations. It is not at all a good film and the best honest compliment that can be given is “average.” But somehow people showed a lot of interest and that is all what matters in the end.
The latest film in the list is our Lucky Bhaskar. The Dulquer Salman led movie was a big time hit at the box office and that did not limit its potential at Netflix India. It is still raking lots and lots of views and will soon overtake Do Patti.
