Serving as a spiritual successor to the acclaimed Vadh (2022), Vadh 2 is all set for its digital debut. The sequel’s OTT release is locked for April 3, 2026, on Netflix.
Don’t go in expecting a direct continuation of the first story. In Vadh 2, Sanjay Mishra plays Shambhunath Mishra, a weary, low-ranking prison guard nearing retirement who supplements his income by selling vegetables grown on the jail grounds.
On the other side of the bars is Manju Singh (Neena Gupta), an inmate who has spent 28 years serving a life sentence for a double murder she claims she didn’t commit.
The two share a tender, “blind” bond, chatting through a prison wall at night, sharing secrets and illicit treats. Their quiet world is shattered when a high-profile, politically connected inmate named Keshav (Akshay Dogra) suddenly vanishes from a locked room, triggering a high-stakes investigation led by the sharp-witted officer Ateet Singh (Amitt K. Singh).
While the film keeps the slow-burn energy of its predecessor, critics have noted that it feels more like a procedural crime thriller.
The standout performance comes from Kumud Mishra, who plays a strict, caste-conscious superintendent whose arrival turns the prison hierarchy upside down. The film isn’t just about a disappearance. It’s a deep dive into systemic corruption and the blurred lines between victim and perpetrator.
Helmed by Jaspal Singh Sandhu, Vadh 2 also stars talents such as Yogita Bihani and Shilpa Shukla. If you’re a fan of thrillers that prioritise character depth and atmosphere, then Vadh 2 should turn out to be a great watch for you all. Stay tuned for more updates.
