A lot of time, filmmakers fail to make a film worth our time. A lot of time, we as audiences fail to appreciate diamonds that are hidden in the flashing of glamour that the film industry comes bundled with.
Tumbbad suffered a similar fate. The film went wrong and it is us who needs to be blamed. The critics failed to promote it, people failed to go and watch it.
But the wheel of time has reversed for Tumbbad. The movie is currently re-running on the big screens and the response is really really great. People are going gaga over the concept and execution and so they should.
Thankfully Rahi Anil Barve is getting the chance to execute his other two dream projects. Namely Gulkanda Tales on Prime Video and Rakt Bramhand on Netflix India. According to Barve himself, Gulkanda Tales is ready to be released.
But where is he?
Apart from a few tweets, we really don’t see anything noticeable from the filmmaker while his film is running riot on re-release. The man has a lot in his bag with Gulkanda Tales and his face would definitely add to the success of Gulkanda Tales.
While Sohum Shah has taken the charge, Rahi Anil Barve is nowhere to be seen. It is not a bad thing as not everyone is as comfortable on camera as Karan Johar.
But, having Rahi Anil Barve speak about both Tumbbad and Gulkanda Tales would have been a feast.
